I love this suite! There are so many usable elements…from the lovely Stamp set Rooted in Nature, the co ordinating dies, and DSP along with gorgeous twine and leaves trinkets. To see them all, take a look in my shop …..look for the Nature’s Poem suite.
So, this is what we did at this weeks Coffee and a Card.

It was cased from a Card on Pinterest designed by Sam Hammond. The card base is Blackberry Bliss, as is the ink and twine. The DSP looks hand printed and to add to the design, we hand stamped some leaves in Petal Pink and Blackberry Bliss on a panel of Whisper White for inside the Card.

The second card is using the same stamp set but with a more masculine feel, and this time I used a Very Vanilla card base and DSP from the wood textures set. I used Crumb Cake ink and burlap ribbon to embellish.

Anyway…. that’s me for a few weeks while I’m away in Denmark visiting my lovely sister in law.
Be back in a few weeks, in the mean time;

I’ve been a little lax with the blog for the last couple of weeks, but I feel I’ve a good excuse….4 extras in the house, including two of my grandchildren, and however much I love crafting, I love my grandchildren more!
Visitors also took over my craft room, so ‘me time’ has been very sparse! But middle of next week is lots of me time….I’m going on holiday again!
So Back to crafting…or more precisely, card making.
Coffee and a card two weeks ago we made two cards using the Sea of Textures stamp set and paper from the Tranquil Textures DSP pack. Although the sentiments were not to everyone’s taste, so I took an alternate Happy Birthday stamp from Perennial Birthday Stamp Set. These cards are relatively easy to do but look fab!

Tranquil Adventure

Tranquil Birthday
So, then came my Catalogue Launch Party! Yes, I know it was a month after launch and lots of people already had their catalogue, but for me, it was any excuse to show some of the lovely new products off!
I made a display board to show off some of the different suites that I had some or all the products for!
The room I hired was perfect…very roomy, space for displays, make and take tables, space to sit and peruse the catalogue or try your hand at either the scavenger hunt or the anagrams of Stampin’Up! colours! Hot drink and Cake was bountiful… only issue was it coincided with the England World Cup game against Columbia! Inevitably there were not too many of us, but I think I can say we all had a fab time and I got new customers too!
This is the make and take card that everyone did;

So, on to this weeks Coffee and a Card….. it was Christmas week again….seems to come round very quickly!
Our first card used the Colorful Seasons stamp set, using the lovely snowflakes on a Night of Navy background and silver card.

Merry Snowflakes
The second card used the Softly Falling embossing folder on Whisper White card and then we used a die which is NOT Stampin’Up! It’s a Tutti Designs die that I have had for several years, but I’m still anxiously awaiting this years Stampin Up Christmas lines and hope there is something as beautiful as this! The card base and tree are die cut on the new Shaded Spruce card stock and stamped in the coordinating ink and embellished with the lovely new Basic Red Rhinestone Jewels

Anyway…need to get on and prep for stuff after my holiday.
Look out for next weeks blog, my last until mid August!
Happy Crafting!

This weeks Coffee and a Card used the super cute Hedgehugs stamp set.

Available as wood mount or clear mount, they are a lovely fun set, with some super sentiments!
Our first card had a squirrel hidden inside a tree!
A panel of Early Espresso card stock had a ‘hole’ punched in it at one end. Laying this card onto a Very Vanilla card base, we drew around the circle with a pencil. This showed us where to stamp the squirrel. The Early Espresso card was then embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing folder, and then attached over the stamped image. The toadstools were stamped across the bottom in Cherry Cobbler ink and some discontinued ribbon was attached across the top. The sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla Card and then punched out. It was mounted on a scalloped circle punched in either Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green or Early Espresso. The top of this was scored, had redliner tape attached and ‘hinged’ over the squirrel. Finally a bow was made in the same ribbon and attached centrally to the ribbon at the top of the card.

The second card was adapted from a card by Natalie Oshea.
The card base is soft suede, the flowers stamped with Early Espresso ink across the bottom. Next the two hedgehogs were stamped on Whisper White cardstock (using the stamparatus to ensure we could re-stamp if the ink didn’t cover well enough on the first stamping) again with Early Espresso ink. The bodies were coloured with a caramel Promarker, and the flower coloured using a blender pen and Cherry Cobbler ink. This panel was adhered to the card base and a strip of Burlap ribbon was attached to the bottom.
The sentiment and flower were stamped on Whisper White, punched with the 1 1/2″ circle punch, and mounted on a die cut circle of Early Espresso. This was then added using dimensionals.

I know several hedgehog lovers and i’m sure this stamp will prove to be popular!

New to the 2018/19 annual catalogue is the Lilypad Lake bundle. A beautiful set with water, boats, heron and some lovely words and the co ordinating dies. It makes some stunning cards and we made two this morning at Coffee and a Card.
It was a pretty hectic morning with 7 people joining me, but as usual we had some fun and laughter and everyone went home with two lovely cards.
The first card used watercolour paper as the background, and after wetting the card three different colours using the ‘water’ stamp were stamped down covering all the card. I used Pumpkin Pie at the top, then Daffodil Delight and finally Night of Navy. This was then spritzed with water, removing any excess with kitchen paper. We then set this to one side to dry.
The heron was die cut in black card as was the reeds using the ‘water’ framelit. The water framelit then had its sides cut away, and the centre was snipped at random in half to give reeds.
The sun was die cut in Daffodil Delight and the flying birds were stamped onto the background in Memento. These were from the High Tide Stamp set. The card was assembled onto a black background before attaching to a whisper white card base.
The idea came from a card by Emma Goddard of Coastal Crafters.

The next card also used The Lilypad Lake bundle. But this time the card had a more nautical theme and perfect for the sailor in your family!
We started with Balmy Blue base and using the cloud design from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Whisper White Ink, we sponged onto the Balmy BLue to give subtle clouded background.
The ‘sea’ was die cut in Pool Party, the ‘sun’ in Daffodil Delight, and the ‘yachts’ were stamped several times on Whisper White before colouring with a variety of pens (Stampin Blends and other) and then cut with the die.
The sentiment was from ‘Your Inspiring’ stampset, stamped in Balmy Blue on Whisper White card and die cut using one of the framelits from the bundle. The edges of the sentiment were ‘dabbed’ in the balmy blue ink to edge it.

Clearmount bundle £40.50, Woodmount bundle £47.50
These are also available separately, but buying as a bundle saves 10%

As promised, this weeks Coffee and a Card involved making Christmas cards. But despite what I said, I’ve also used some retired DSP, as I currently do not have any of the 2018/19 Christmas DSP….in fact I’m not overly keen on the one in the catalogue and I’m hoping for something great in the Autumn /Winter catalogue!
Anyhow, I made a square Happy Reindeer card, using the Reinderr from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set, and stamped this in Memento ink on a Stitched Shapes circle. I coloured the reindeer with pro markers (my range of Stampin’ Blends is limited), embossed the background with Polka Dots Basic embossing folder. I used a non SU die for the scalloped circle, and stamped the sentiment onto card and cut with the Banner Triple Punch.

The next Christmas card used the same stamp set…Cookie Cutter Christmas. I stamped Santa, coloured him with pro markers, and then fussy cut him out – I don’t have the punch yet and its not too difficult to cut him. The bobble on his hat was probably harder coz it was so small!
To make the chimney, I used the brick mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and ran it through my big shot using the new Big Shot embossing mats (actually, they are new to Stampin’ Up…..I’ve had mine for years!!) on early espresso card. The brick detail works great! I topped the chimney with some black card.
The back ground is the Softly Falling embsossing folder, the snow on the chimney is shimmery white embossing paste. The sentiment is from Half Full stamp set, punched with the pretty label punch. To make the red punched shape, I punched the shape twice in red, cut one in half horizontally and glued it popping out top and bottom to the white punched shape. The second red punched shape, I chopped the left and right edges off and using just these bits glue them to the previously glued piece.

How apt!! This is the name of the stamp set we played with at Coffee and a Card this week!
Start of the new catalogue, so lets play with new products!
First card is quite a simple card, using the Stamparatus to move the same image along the card stock keeping it exactly in line, Stampin’ blends, and the sentiment from the Love What You Do stamp set. Lovely Lipstick ink and card stock and an old favourite Old Olive ink for the flower stems.

Next we used the lovely Share What You Love Speciality DSP. Berry burst card stock and ink, old olive card stock and ink, basket weave embossing folder, Tailored tag punch (to make the chevron shape on the DSP), sentiment from Perennial birthday and a finishing Artisan Pearl from the Share What You Love range.

Apologies for the smudge in the top right corner…someone dropped the ink pad…..and it wasn’t me!
The Share What You Love DSP is super thick and amazing quality paper and the bonus is you wont run out quickly coz its a double sized pack giving a fabulous 24 sheets of double sided paper, some with a translucent finish and some pearlised, and the remainder just super heavyweight. And if that’s not enough they also co ordinate with 13 colours of card stock , so if you’ve only got a couple of colours, there’s a good chance one will co ordinate!
Next week is the 2nd Monday which can only mean one thing….It’s Christmas!! Yes… Coffee and a Card on June 11th is Christmas Card Making… come and join us!
So, now I’d better get my thinking cap on…builders in house means I need to get several weeks card sorted because there will soon come a time when I cant get in my craft room!!
Happy crafting! xx

Not long now until the new catalogue is live for ordering from. Still not got one? Contact me and I will post one out to you (or hand deliver if you’re close by).
This also means that time is running out on retiring products….May 31st deadline for placing an order, and as I am away from Thursday this week, there really isn’t much time left.
At this weeks Coffee and a Card, we made a lovely card using the retiring Flower Shop stamps and retiring Pansy punch, but used the new in colors (available in the early release right now). The leaf embossing folder gave it a lovely textured back ground , add a bit of bling and voila!!

Card number two used the same ink selection, and this time the Happy BIrthday Gorgeous stamp set, the Birthday Wishes for You stamp set and the Balloon Punch

Remember if you want the sets to make the first card, you only have til May 31st!
And finally, I wont be around for Coffee and a Card this next Monday (May 28th), but dont worry, my lovely friend Paula is still running it for me! She’s a super talented lady…pop along and have some fun!
Happy Stamping!
by Barbara | May 16, 2018 | Cards, Christmas
The second Monday each month, our Coffee and a Card focuses on Christmas. I’m also still using discontinued DSP (Designer Series Paper) Be Merry….available while stocks last until the end of May, and I also used an old favourite of mine stamp set, unfortunately no longer available..Merry Mice. The six ladies who joined me this week made this cute little pop up card;

and then we made a card using a bit of paper-folding, which proved far more challenging than I expected! Again we used the discontinued DSP, and the sentiment this time was from the also no longer available set Christmas Quilt.

But there is more to life than discontinued product! I have been busy making projects with the pre sell items I bought after April’s convention in Telford, ready for a catalogue launch party in June…details to follow as I havent got a venue yet! The new catalogue is available now to view. If you would like a copy please contact me
I Know ive mentioned it before but there is also an early release suite available right now. It’s the ‘Share what you Love ‘Suite, and has 3 different bundles depending on your budget and skills

These are some of the cards you could make with this suite;

Any way…time to do more crafting!
Have a super crafty day x
