This months Tech4stampers bloghop uses the theme ‘Springtime’
Its been a while since I participated in a blog hop. But I’m back and I’m taking things a month at a time and not promising this will be regular occurrence.
Some times the theme doesn’t jump out or appeal to me, but sometimes it’s good to get out of your comfort zone and give it a go.
So, I sat and thought about Springtime… a time of year I love. All the new shoots emerging, bulbs starting to flower, birds becoming more and more vocal as they pair up prior to nesting. Its a great time of year.
And then I considered what stamps, dies and papers I had that talked to me of Spring, and stalled! I have many floral stamps, but non that particularly made me think of Springtime, particularly current stamps.
Searching my dies was no more inspiring! Then I got to my papers (DSP) and found the Mediterranean Blooms papers. I love the lemons and oranges printed on these papers, but then spied this gorgeous small printed floral design that reminded me of daffodils….I don’t think that is what they are supposed to be, but hey…they remind me of them!
So, here’s what I made

The colours for me just had to be Lemon Lolly and Garden Green, such gorgeous springtime colours.
I used the Link Together dies to cut an opening in my floral layer and then used the same die to cut the white stitched edged piece to stamp my sentiment on. A Thank You card is always a great card to have in your stash, so I decided to use that sentiment, from the online exclusive Irresistible Blooms stamp set and stamped it in Garden Green. I used the ‘splodge’ stamp from the same set in Lemon Lolly to create a little interest too.
Using the Linked Together dies, I cut both foliage pieces in Garden Green and the flowers in Lemon Lolly.
I offset the sentiment slightly to one side of the opening to allow some Garden Green to show through and also raised it on dimensionals to help it ‘pop’.
I attached the die cut foliage and flowers around the sentiment and finally added some retired gems from my stash to the centre of the flowers.
And finally I used the diamond shaped section that was cut from the centre of the DSP, cut it in half, trimmed it down and added to the front of my envelope.

I’m really happy with the way it has turned out and look forward to posting it out!
